Small-company limits raised to ₹10 crore and ₹100 crore
G.S.R. 880(E) substitutes rule 2(1)(t) of the Companies (Specification of definition details) Rules, 2014. For section 2(85), paid-up capital shall not exceed ₹10 crore and turnover shall not exceed ₹100 crore. The notification amends only that rule. It does not rewrite the Act. A public company is outside section 2(85). The proviso still excludes a holding company, a subsidiary, a section 8 company, and a company or body corporate governed by a special Act.
